You guys wanted a territiory so I have registered for vanarch! It is going to take a lot of cooperation to get every person to vote, so remind fellowguild members to vote for Oats and Across for Velika vanarch! We will have specific alliances and as a guild we will vote for these specific guilds in order to secure their votes for our own territory. Decisions are still being made so for details ask in game.
Okay officers of Across, I need you to step it up a little bit in regards to the point system. I noticed that only a few people are actually doing the points system. Some are only doing things when I hunt them down and ask them. Some are completely ignoring it and hoping someone else will take care of it. Some people are flat out ignoring it because they want to take care of their own in game needs first. If this is something that is going to be too time consuming or stressful, then let me know. I am finding that the work of many is falling on a few, and that isn’t fair. I don’t really want excuses about jobs, school, etc., because its as simple as this: if you dont have time, step down!
I am considering making a new title “Administrator” for those that actually want to do the job the Officer was supposed to do. Officers will be more in charge of helping organize events and answering questions.
I will put more detail as to what im expecting current officers to be doing in a forum post where you can discuss and rant.
Tomorrow we are holding another PvP practice session for guild points! Remember to be on time for double points. We will be meeting at Velika north gate. Remember that this event is to practice your PvP skills in a friendly constructive environment. This is where you can acquire strategies against other classes without worrying about judgement ortrash talk!
In future events when we have more max level players, we will be holding tournaments for guild points and possibly gold prizes!
The PvP event yesterday went amazingly well! Thank you to all those who showed up to take advantage of some stress free PvP practice. We had many even and un-even fighting situations taking place to better prepare ourselves for the worst out in Tera. Some of our lower level members banded together to take down a 3 man group of mid level characters! Everyone had a lot of fun, and we will definitely do this event in the future (possibly next weekend).

Added a Facebook widget, it could be useful, but it looks pretty squished with the current blog layout…
Also tweaked the forums, moved some not-so- relevant-anymore game sections into a special corner of the forums where they can die in peace. Also added minor forum sections for other games such as; Minecraft, Battlefield, Phantasy Star Online 2, and a Guild Wars 2 section. We’ll see if they get any use.
Blog + Forums might be due for a major overhaul, cheer me on to keep my motivation up and maybe something good will happen!

~Leveling~
We have some very impressive levelers in our guild. Dkitty and Ilpalazzo are constantly tied neck and neck and are into the 50′s range. Many members, despite the perils of real life, are well into their 30′s and even 40′s. Even those that have re-rolled are catching up quick! We are definitely with the curve if not ahead of it.
On a side note, take some time to enjoy the game guys. This game is gorgeous, and i would hate for people not to stop and look around once in awhile.
~Guild Bank~
We had a HUGE response to the guild point system! It was so huge that we had to close off donations of blue gear. We literally could not broker it fast enough or give it away to people who needed it before the guild bank was nearing capacity. To combat the waves of gear being thrown at the guild, we have decided to make golds weapons and armor the only acceptable donations apart from catharnac tokens. The golds are already piling high, and many guild members are raking in the guild points! Keep it up because something may just appear in the bank that you want, and you will need the points to get them out.
~PvP~
We had a couple of harsh run ins with some particularly big and zergy guilds, but we didn’t let them stop us from having fun or trolling them into the ground. Thanks to troll expert Trevyn, we fought in some epic 5 v 30 fights in the the name of Tommy the Green Ranger (and his dagger flute of triumph)!
In order to keep up with the PvP curve, we are most likely going to hold a guild event this weekend for PvP practice that will award guild points and some valuable combat experience. The deathmatch feature has been enabled, and matches up to 10v10 are now available to us! Since most guild skirmishes are somewhere around 10-30 vs. 10-30, this will help us grow stronger in our strategies!
~Recruitment~
Several great new members have made their way into Across, and everyone seems to be getting along fairly well. Remember this is still only the beginning of Tera, so make new members feel comfortable! As for new members that feel like they are getting left out, SPEAK UP! We are a mid-large guild for Tera, so you will need to participate and get in on the action in order to fit in! Get on the teamspeak server! Talk in guild chat! All of these things will make us a better community. Numbers are not our concern. Community, however, is a very big concern of mine and of the Across community members.

Saturday night I went through the guild member list and got totals of all the different classes we had. If you are thinking about joining or even rerolling this might interest you. Please keep in mind that this is just for fun and we are NOT limiting classes currently. Here’s what I came up with:

Hyatt
The point system is undergoing some changes for launch. We found that several players were taking advantage of the system by selling golds on broker and only putting blues in the guild bank. This was not against the rules at all and actually in the Across spirit we found it clever and resourceful. However, in the best interest of the Across community, we have proportionately lowered all of the current donation points by dividing them by FIVE. All points spent were also divided by FIVE. This means we have a proportionate ratio of points spent to points earned from the beta, but with smaller numbers. For release, we are raising the amount of points that you can obtain by putting a gold item in the guild bank by a significant amount!
Another issue that came up (rarely) was when people wanted to donate gear DURING a bid to get more points. It doesn’t work that way! We will update the points before every bid to make sure you have the maximum amount of points you should have up to the point of the bid. You cannot turn in gear during a bid to try and snipe gear. After a bid is complete, points may be acquired again normally.
These changes may be scary, but we want to make sure that everyone gets credit for their hard earned donations and work through events. Event points were not reduced at all because they are not static amounts of points.
The new point values are reflected in the Beta Points spreadsheet. View your new totals! By Friday there will be more sections for gold gear values and possibly new categories.
Last day of open beta!
We are very happy with the excess gear point system, and we are moving towards finalizing this guild feature. Many of our members were able to gear up fairly quickly!
With everyone’s participation, Across managed to donate over 130 pieces of gear (they went up for bid and were eaten quickly!), and 18 of those pieces were bid on in only 4 days!
Over 150,000 points were earned as a guild during these 4 days.
49,000 of those points were spent on gear.
Of the 18 pieces bidded on, over two thirds of them were gold.
The guild managed to sell many of the extra blue pieces netting us over 75 gold which was spent on 3 gold pieces of gear and GvG declarations.
Across has done some amazing things this open beta, and we will continue to do so in release!
